i've spent the last 3 out of 4 weekends in oklahoma. the 1st 2 were hanging out becky and her family, who have become my 2nd family. the 3rd was spent with my biological family, when we met in oklahoma city for a few days. it's been a long time since my family has done the tourist thing. on saturday we went to the oklahoma city museum of art. the 1st two floors were full of paintings and sculptures that my siblings and i made fun of. (i just don't understand how some of that can be considered art.) the 3rd floor made it all worth our money. the way things go, a 30-minute rube goldberg video, was showing and most of the other art was really good too. at the museum's gift shop, i spent waaaay too much money. i bought the dvd of the way things go and a 20-piece
magnet set, (which has been a blast to play with!!) and some other magnets with quotes on them.
then we walked around bricktown for awhile before hopping on the trolley. we rode a few laps and on the last one, a guy sitting next to me asked where we were from. after talking some more, we realized i went to college with his wife, who happened to be the only other epp at hesston while i was there. what a small world!!
our next stop was the oklahoma city national memorial, which was really cool.
on sunday, we visited the national cowboy museum. none of us were very impressed with this, since alot of the information has been drilled into us all through elementary and junior high.
it was really nice to be able to hang out with my family without feeling pressure to see other people while at home. i could enjoy my time with them and was able to see a bunch of sites at the same time...a wonderful experience.
